How to Improve Your Website SEO

Search Engine Optimization plays an important role in improving the ranking and overall quality of your website. Below I have given some tips to improve your website SEO. Though it may not help you make your website appear on the top of the search engine first page but will promisingly help you to move up a little higher.

1. Create quality content:

Quality in the content is a master stroke to improve your website ranking. So, create a unique content. Now, you may ask how to create such quality and unique content. Try to tell anything new in your own way. Don’t copy it from others. If you do so, users may get annoyed and search engine will consider your content as duplicate.

So, before starting to write content, choose a niche on which you have good knowledge and start writing unique and original content. Make sure your content has good and relevant information. Not only the viewer will be happy due to that but also it helps to improve your website ranking.

2. Make your content readable and findable:

Every time you are publishing a new post in your blog, make sure it is easy for people to find it easily. It is advisable to use a slider plugin on your website which helps to rotate the excerpts of your recent posts in an interactive and eye-catching manner.

Next, make sure whether your content is properly formatted on the screen with suitable headings, sub headings and white space. Keep in mind that you must create content for the people and not for search engines. So, provide good information with decent number of keywords and interlinking.

3. Schedule the new content:

Scheduling the content is important to improve your website SEO. So, create a weekly schedule and decide how many blog posts you can write per week and set the time to publish every post. If you have a separate section for news on your website, then regularly update that section with latest and fresh content.

Spend some time to research a keyword before starting to write an article. Watch what your competitors are doing. Research which keywords/words are driving more traffic and concentrate on them. Make sure the keywords/words you are selecting are related to your niche.

5. Give name to your pages:

Give descriptive name with title attribute to all of your pages. It is important because search engine displays the search results as a link using the Web page’s title. The “Untitled” link is not delicious and nobody is going to click on it. It is good to add the keyword phrase in the title.

6. Share the content on social networks:

Sharing your content on social media networking sites is a great way to create awareness about your website and encourage the organic links on other websites. Because, search engines treat the links on social networks differently from links on more typical websites.

Social signals such as Tweets, Likes, Plus ones, etc. act as strong authority signals to search engines. Additionally, these signals help to build strong relationship with the user through SEO and maintain that relationship through SMO. It helps the search engine to improve your website SEO. So, always share your content on the popular social networking sites.

7. Reach out to other websites:

Creating content on other websites is a great way to build links. For example, guest blogging or guest posting; it is a great way to drive traffic and people to your website. Apart from that, it helps you to establish yourself as a expert in a particular subject or niche.

8. Use Meta tags and Title tags on your content:

Title tags and meta tags are used by search engines to get a description of your article. They also help to know what information your article contains. By utilizing these two tags properly on your blog, you can improve your website SEO ranking.

The title tag reflects what you have on the particular page – whether it is an article, review, image, service or product. But a meta tag gives a brief description to the user on what your page will have. Meta tag is used by Google and other search engines.

If you have similar pages, then write different meta descriptions for each page because if you copy and paste the same description then it will be considered as duplicate content.

9. Use Analytics:

Always utilize the data from Google Analytics. It helps you to analyze your website ups and downs. Moreover, the data in Google Analytics provides some valuable information such as where high traffic comes from, how the visitors view your website, etc.

10. Make a community:

Once the visitors visit your website, it is essential to make them interact with you. They need to perform certain action on your website; for example signing up a newsletter, subscribe to your blogs and news, order the purchase, comment on your post, etc. Without engagement with viewers, it is waste to have a website.

Once people start to engage with your website, traffic to your website will increase automatically. The engagement value is a ranking factor of each website. For example: If you have low engagement then definitely the bounce rate of your website will be high.

It will act as a strong signal to search engine to conclude that either your website has low quality content or it provides bad user experience; and the search engine will never show your website to the user when they are searching for queries.

11. Optimize the content on website:

Never think that once you write and publish the article, the work is finished. You need to check every blog post for every 4-6 months. You need to check whether the content you provided on a particular topic is still relevant. Can it be updated again to bring more value to the viewers?

Then you need to check for broken links and new opportunities to add new and fresh content. Also you need to check for your anchor links whether they are still correct after updating your blog or need to change, etc.

12. Provide good design to your website:

Last but not the least, strong and well organized pages help you rank higher in search engines. So, always create a good design for your website.
