Why WordPress Is Better Than Blogger For Hosting Your Website?

March 4, 2015 by Sathishkumar Varatharajan Leave a Comment

You can have different blogging platform for your personal or business blog, as there are lots of them available like Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr and many more. But people commonly use only two of all, Blogger and WordPress. Since from when both came into existent, a new person will always have a question that which is better, blogger or WordPress? To which, my answer is WordPress, no doubt. There must have been some factors why I chose WordPress over blogger, let’s discuss them.

Advantages Of WordPress Over Blogger

Advantages Of WordPress Over Blogger

In WordPress, there are so many features, technical and commercial, making it ahead of Blogger. WordPress is more to professionals rather than newbies and starters. Blogspot needs low technical knowledge and every one can easily understand and learn it. If you’re starting your blog as a personal interest and don’t want to earn money, then blogspot is better choice. But if you’re a true blogger and want to make blogging your life job, go for WordPress.

WordPress represents professionalism and technicality. If you want to earn money, fame and respect, use WordPress. It is like, WordPress has all the features blogger has, but blogspot doesn’t have some WordPress features. Also you can do SEO easily and in very effective manner, whereas blogspot doesn’t allow you to do that.

WordPress offers lots of plugins, themes and layouts for your website. You can easily control your blog and can do whatever you want it to do. By making self-hosted website with WordPress, you enter the real world of blogging. Blogger is just for casual blogging and needs no investment of money. WordPress requires initial investment only if you’re self-hosted. It is also free if the blog is hosted on website only.

You will need some time to learn and grasp WordPress because of its more technicality and features, whereas blogspot doesn’t require much time to make out what’s happening and how you’re going to do things. Blogger is best for hobby writers, occasional writers and social writers. Since these writers don’t have much of working information of WordPress, whereas, tech bloggers and all business websites rely on WordPress for making their website existent.

Rumor has it that since blogger is of Google’s and will provide more SEO support than WordPress. You don’t have to believe any random person’s advice; instead go for an expert’s advice. He will always tell you that WordPress has better search engine optimization capabilities.

So in the end, I would like to say that if you’re a casual blogger, just normal person who wants to do blogging and nothing else, who just want to be a blogger, and doesn’t want professionalism, then blogger is best for him. But if a person wants everything under one hood, and also is professional at what he’s doing, then he should use WordPress any day since it has a large number of advantages as I have discussed above.

So, if you are planning to get into blogging, start using WordPress and enjoy the technical yet real side of the blogging. Or if you have already started blogging using Blogspot, then check out our Blogger.com to WordPress.org migration services which will let you migrate all your blog content to WordPress without a slight drop in the amount of traffic, which you are getting to your website.
